Mary Tess

I, too, was uninspired by the sweater in the book (in fact just this morning I peaked ahead to April in the hope that I would like that project better). But your swatch is lovely and the purl bits are a marvelous touch. I could not have imagined it before seeing it. Thank you for sharing it.

I really like your swatch (hot water bottle cover?)! It is very reminiscent of the Bohus knitted items...the colors just blend into each other so well. I've been coveting the Bohaus kits on the Fairy Hare site for a while...maybe when I finish all the projects I already have on my plate. As for the knitting journal, I've been keeping one since I started knitting, which admittedly has not been very long, but I've been keeping one. I find it really helpful to keep track of various projects since I always have several things going at once. Would you like to me "show-and-tell? it on my blog?

I just got the almanac and I love reading it. Your version of the Difficult sweater is in lovely colours. EZ mentions knitting a hat to try out aran gauge and you've got a bottle sweater, EZ would surely have approved.

Your color choices are beautiful - would you share the yarns that you are using? I have the Almanac and frankly I've always thought that sweater was pretty ugly, but you've shown it in a whole new light - now I'm thinking about doing one myself. I've never seen the Almanac knit-along before, what a great idea. I just love EZ, I've learned so much from her books, although you do have to use your imagination with the dated styles in her books.

PS, Nancy (the Knitting Wench) had posted some photos of her own knitting scrapbook this past summer --

Hiya! I just ran across your blog entry (I'm a lot slow, sorry) and thanks for the positive words. I really appreciate it. As for my chain mail sweater, it was the very first project I ever did without a pattern, and all I can say is, I was too ignorant to realize how hard it was. LOL

Your water-bottle cover looks beautful. Much more subtle than mine. Bravo!
