nice! i have made several odessas, and have shedir on my to-do list for someday. good to see your comments and the inside view of the hat. i agree, they should make good chemo caps. was shedir cashsoft dk? a great yarn!

i haven't posted it on my blog but i did make a shrug for my niece like your mom made your daughter, combining odessa ideas and the pattern your mom used. also cashsoft dk...

They're lovely, Jeanne, and sure to bring some comfort to your friend.

I had the same yardage problem with Rowan Calmer once, and it was a discontinued color!

Both hats are beautiful! I am very taken with the complex cable work on Shedir. They both make me heartily wish that I could wear hats without looking like a complete idiot. I hope your friend is doing okay.

They are both gorgeous...and you are so thoughtful to consider the yarn so carefully and whether they reach the nape of her neck, the beads...

Both hats are great choices. I think I have a soft spot for Shedir with all of those "twists". I'll keep that one in mind. Whoops, I've just downloaded it!

both hats are just lovely, and calm-looking (that might sound a little silly, but there you go. serene, they are, in their photo poses). bravo!
