The first rule about adapting a sock pattern to a different size is to keep extensive notes about the changes you make, so that you can repeat them exactly for the other sock.
The second rule is not to lose your notes.

So sorry. I saw the first line of your post in bloglines and I knew where it was going. I suspect your pain is universal to knitters. Hope it turns up.

Oh, that is painful. I speak from experience, however, I was lucky, the socks were for me, so as long as they fit I was happy.
Good luck finding your notes.

Knit both at the same time next time and then when you alter one you can alter the other at the same time. The only drawback is that if you have to frog, then you have to rip two!

Hmm, I bet you find them after you finish the second one. That's what always happens to me with things like that.

At least it is a gorgeous colour yarn!

Uh-oh!! (And, um, yeah, this is why I knit both socks at the same time.)

What a total bummer! Hope you can figure it out :)

Thanks for allowing me to learn from your mistakes. My skills are not such that I am modifying patterns yet, but I will keep your experience in mind.
LOVE the "blackberry" yarn!

Fingers crossed that the notes turn up or manifest itself in your memory. Beautiful yarn and socks in progress, though.
