You are right about both of those yarns - each fabulous colours and beautiful in different ways.

I actually loved Viggo M as Aragorn and SB as Boromir, but then again, I loved pretty much everything about the LoTR movies!

"Insomnia" isn't Norwegian, although it might well have been. You must have seen a dubbed version. It's even got Robin Williams in it -- or maybe it was Norwegian and got re-made in Hollywood? Anyway, we saw the English version recently, and I agree, it's wonderful.

Ah, if I could just get a boxed set of the Aubrey-Maturin series, I would be a happy woman. I have read all of them (except 21)from the library and even own the cookbook!

Okay, Wikipedia gave me that link -- here's a better one, I guess,

The original Insomnia is great. And it's a rare case when I love both the original and the American remake. We screened Kitchen Stories for a film series I used to direct. Such a sweet, subtle, funny, lovely film.

I just watched After the Wedding. It made me wonder if I'd seen any other Danish films before. I can't think of any.

I love the Mish Mash! It is the m/m of life after all that makes us the soup we are! What a delightful romp through your life from garlic soup to knitted tea sets a la Annie. I'm smiling.............

Love your Mish Mash of knitting; the food sounds pretty good too. I enjoyed Insomnia - must check out Kitchen Stories, it sounds fun.

Mish mash post ( isn't that life itself?) begets mish mash comments:

Kitchen Stories sounds interesting, I love that type of film.
I have have the hardest time getting my family to eat leftovers so I solved that problem by eating them myself for lunch. ( the leftovers, not the family)
I was not thinking anything literary when I watched Viggo Mortensen in LOTR ;)

How nice to hear you enjoy norwegian movies. I really liked the Kitchen Stories too. I do have to disagree with you though, S.A. Ousdal is not in every norwegian movie. (There are quite a few better norwegian movies produced over the last few years, none I can think of is featuring mr. Ousdal.)

Love the little knitted cup and sauser! And that train is adorable...
