Pair of clocked stockings
1650–1750, European; 19 x 52 cm (7 1/2 x 20 1/2 in.)
Knitted silk, embroidered with silk yarns. Embroidered clocks of straw-colored silk yarns in decorative motif. Knitted rose silk ground, thirteen yellow stripes at top, polychrome sole.
