Chippendale Desk, No.40017
House of Miniatures Chippendale Desk ("ca.1750-1790"), kit no.40017. This is I think a very early version, as it has hinges for the drop flap (unlike the more common later version with pins), and it has no pigeon-holes inside.
Stained with one coat of General Finishes Black Cherry, and finished with two coats of Ceramcoat gloss varnish, with aging (glue to resist the stain for "watermarks" etc., and some sanding for "wear").
