Mrs. Tim Carries On
There was plenty of knitting for servicemen, both in real life and in "Mrs. Tim Carries On" (1941), the continuation of Mrs. Tim's diary, here during the early years of World War II, but there was also a great deal of knitting for one's family, especially once clothing rationing went into effect.
