Turkoman Carpet, designed by Sue Bakker, published in "Dolls' House Needlecrafts" by Venus A. Dodge (David & Charles, c1996)
Worked in half-cross stitch with DMC embroidery floss (2 strands) on 28 count Monaco canvas; finished size 5 3/4 x 7 3/4 in. (14.6 x 19.7 cm), not counting the fringe
The chart has some errors, but more importantly, while the text implies that the chart is worked as presented (making a small three-gul carpet), the chart itself is clearly designed to be flipped, i.e. is only one-quarter of the finished design (making a large ten-gul carpet); I chose to make the full ten-gul carpet.
228 x 160 sts
I also "faded" the colors in my version, using one strand of the directed color with one strand of a slightly lighter shade, as follows --
dark brown 3371 + 938
blue 3750 + 930
cream/ecru 3033 + 3866
gold 3045 + 422
red 355 + 3830
fringe = 3866
